Difference between job portal website and recruiter agency.

A job seeker always has this question in mind what will be the better option for him either to go to the recruiter agency or to find the job through the web portal. We come here with a glance at both the world for you to decide.

Job Portal:

Basically job portal is the online job posting online website that helps job seekers to find jobs and it also serves as the platform for the employers in their quest to find suitable candidates. Popular websites such as Monster, Indeed, Job Vacancy Result, Naukri.com offer a wide variety of jobs in vast areas. Along with these companies, colleges, universities, and non-profits also have their own job portals, the candidate can easily apply through them.

Job portals allow the user to apply for the jobs immediately, or they provide the link to do so. In some scenarios, the portal provides additional information such as the company’s website or direct contact with the HR department. It has become easy for the candidates to search for the job online and choose the best from the options available.

But a job portal doesn't guarantee that you will land a job. It simply acts as an interface that connects you to the ocean of the jobs. Be careful while you agree to pay the membership fees for the premium accounts on these portals. Do the research carefully, and read the terms and conditions of these job posting online portals. However, there are many free web portals where you can list jobs without any prior fees as well as you need not have to pay any fees for further use. There are multiple sites on the internet that help you to find a suitable job, but the best among them are those which have quick search tools, easy to use, user-friendly and allow you to filter jobs based on your requirement.

Some of the best job sites are traditional job boards, like Monster, Indeed.com, naukri.com, etc. They allow you to search through many job boards, company career sites, associations, and other sources of job postings. Job opportunities can directly be found on google too. Every site has its own search type, try out different websites, as they might help you to land the job of your dreams. Research carefully and see what suits you better.

Recruitment Agency:

In India, the recruitment industry is growing at a very fast rate. Recruitment agencies are dedicated firms that find a suitable candidate for employers. They have highly-specialized depth knowledge of a particular employment sector. Their job is to shortlist the candidates for the post. Professional roles are normally found through recruiter agencies.

Recruiting people takes a huge amount of time and resource, firms find it difficult to cope up with, they usually outsource the process of recruitment to the agencies. On the firm’s behalf agencies go through the pool of applications and shortlist the candidate according to the company needs.  Employers need the right people for the job, their needs are specific. Based on the employer's needs the agencies check the applicants and create a list of shortlisted people. Based on this shortlisting, the employers go ahead with the interview process. In this way, employers can utilize their more time on taking interviews rather than initial shortlisting.

Agencies get the list of the vacancies from the employers, then they list those jobs on internet job portals. They keep a check on the CVs getting uploaded on the portals. When applicants apply for such advertisement their CVs are first shortlisted by the agencies then are sent to employers, Agencies are paid on the basis of the successful CVs referred to the employers. Recruiter agencies usually send the edited version of the CVs to the employer to prevent the employer from directly contacting the employee to avoid paying the agency.

For choosing a good recruiter agency for yourself, check on the testimony of the previous users on google, its credibility, check the track record of the firms. How many employers they have worked with, how many applicants are placed through them? Also, keep in mind if the agency is the preferred agency of the employer. If they are the preferred agency they already have a negotiation setup for the referrals. Agencies are there to help you choose your career path and land you an ideal job.  Just be a bit conscious before choosing any agency.

Candidates can effectively use both the job portal and the recruitment agency to get the jobs of their dream. Use them as per your preferences, get the best of them.
