What will your day look like

• As part of this role, you will be working closely with mainframe technology infrastructure teams to uplift and modernize the existing systems
• You will be responsible for defining and maintaining our development tooling and software architecture.
• Design solutions that can meet current and future business/customer needs
• Participation in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, story estimation, retrospectives, etc)
• Take part in troubleshooting for service recovery
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve stability and robust performance of Credit Decision management systems

What will you bring

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Essential skills

• Engineering experience on Mainframe technologies (COBOL, VSAM, JCL, CICS) and a good understanding of the z/OS platform is mandatory
• You are a strong, adaptable problem solver with at least 5 years of mainframe experience

Relevant Experiences

• Experience working with Retail Banking Decision Products or Systems
• Experience working with Real Time Fraud detection Products or Systems
• Ability to triage and diagnose defects/issues across the full stack
• Experience with Atlassian Suite - JIRA, Confluence Bamboo

Soft Skills

• Understand customer needs to make sound judgments
• Pays attention to the detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality applications that delight customers
• Have a thirst and willingness to expand knowledge with new technologies bringing benefits into the Tech Area
• Mixture of functional and technical skills where requirements can be driven/reviewed with stakeholders

Desired Skills

• Engineering experience on Mainframe technologies (MQ, CA/7, Control-M, Endevor, Connect:Direct) is highly desirable
• Understanding of Credit Risk principles and experience working with Credit Risk systems
• Understanding of XML SQL
