Job Description

IP analyst will be responsible for interacting with inventors and key stake holders and assisting them in preparing invention disclosure. The role also entails conducting searches which include patentability search, Freedom to operate search, validity search etc. The main purpose is to handle the technical aspects of the patent, trademark and copyright applications.

Roles and responsibilities

IP Analyst will be responsible for one or more of following:

1. Understanding the validity of the patent by searching for prior art and comprehending patent claims.

2. Conducting patentability search and mapping the invention disclosure with the prior art.

3. Understanding freedom to operate for patent by finding any infringing products and analyse the applicable jurisdiction and its enforceability

Identifying the status of trademark applications and conducting trademark search.

4. Any other work allocated by the engagement manager.

5. Work with external IP attorneys to register and maintain registered IP.

6. Meeting deadlines for submissions, renewals, and other documentation filings.

7. Organizing documentation for, and assisting with, intellectual property litigation and due diligence.

8. Developing and maintaining database of intellectual property records and filings, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and domains.

9. Preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, liaising with inventors to develop a detailed understanding of inventions.

10. Any other work allocated by the engagement manager.

Desired Candidate Profile

B.tech/B.E OR M.tech

Experience - 6 months to 7 years
