Role and Responsibilities of AS400 Developer:
What You Will Be Doing:
- Design, code, test, debug and maintain AS400 programs.
- Translate user requirements and system objectives into logical, economical, and practical solutions.
- Prepare technical specifications from BRD/FRD.
- Candidates should Develop, Support and Maintain AS400 Application software.
- Individual performer on RPG/400, CL/400 and DB2 Programming (ILE knowledge is optional).
- Help in Documenting Business requirements and convey understanding of application enhancements.
- Implement knowledge and experience related to ERP functions like; Bill of Material Generation, Sales order, MPS & MRP planning, Scheduling, Procurement, Inventory/Warehouse Management.
- Documentation Experience in relevant field.
- Perform design, development, testing and deployment meeting corporate IT standards as well as industry best practices, Ensuring functionality needs are met per client requirements.
- Perform rigorous unit testing and system integration testing of custom integrations with other Enterprise IT systems
- Facilitate user acceptance testing and user training sessions.
- Provide analytical & technical support, maintain production instance from a business user and technology perspective, trouble shoot & resolve production environment issues
Skills
- 4+ years of Experience on AS400
- Candidates should be expert in AS400 technologies: RPGLE, RPG, CLLE, SQL400, DDS, IFS and Production Support.
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of MDCMS change management system
- Exposure to AS/400 modernization tools & methodologies desired
- Thorough knowledge of AS400 development tools for interactive and batch environments.
- Experience with Java, XML, HTML or Web sphere a plus.
- Exposure to Free format would be preferable
